FIG 01 · Email Marketing
An email marketing agency that gets you into the inbox first
Deliverability first, then lifecycle automation. SPF, DKIM, DMARC and one-click unsubscribe that meet Gmail, Yahoo and Outlook rules, then flows and campaigns in Klaviyo, HubSpot or your platform, reported on clicks and revenue.

FIG 02 · Quick answer
What does an email marketing agency do?
An email marketing agency plans, builds and runs the emails and automated flows that turn subscribers into customers. Elgrith starts with deliverability: SPF, DKIM, DMARC and one-click unsubscribe that meet Gmail, Yahoo and Outlook sender rules. Then we build lifecycle flows in Klaviyo, HubSpot or your platform and report on clicks and revenue, not opens.

FIG 03 · Why it matters
The inbox has rules now. Most agencies don’t mention them.
From Google’s sender guidelines and the FTC’s CAN-SPAM guide, checked on 23 Oct 2026.

5,000
Messages a day makes you a bulk sender
Gmail’s stricter rules apply to senders that “send more than 5,000 messages per day to Gmail accounts”, in force since 1 February 2024.

0.3%
The spam-rate ceiling
Google says keep spam rates in Postmaster Tools below 0.3%, and recommends under 0.10%. Yahoo’s Sender Hub sets the same 0.3% line.

$53,088
Possible penalty per email
The FTC says each separate email that breaks CAN-SPAM can bring penalties of up to $53,088, and “you can’t contract away your legal responsibility”.

FIG 04 · Sender rules
Deliverability first: 2026 sender rules
Gmail, Yahoo and Outlook.com now publish what a bulk sender must do. This is the checklist we set up before a single campaign goes out. General guidance from each provider’s own pages, not legal advice.
| Gmail | Yahoo | Outlook.com | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who it applies to | Senders of more than 5,000 messages a day to Gmail accounts | Bulk senders, per Yahoo Sender Hub | Domains sending over 5,000 emails a day |
| Authentication | SPF and DKIM | Both SPF and DKIM | SPF, DKIM and DMARC |
| DMARC | Required; p=none is allowed | Required; at least p=none | Required |
| Unsubscribe | One-click unsubscribe; honored within 48 hours | Easy unsubscribe; honored within 2 days | We add RFC 8058 one-click anyway |
| Spam-rate ceiling | Below 0.3% (Google recommends under 0.10%) | Below 0.3% | Not set in the rule we cite |
| In force | From 1 Feb 2024; enforcement ramping up from Nov 2025 | Current Sender Hub best practices | From 5 May 2025; non-compliant mail may be rejected with 550; 5.7.515 |
Sources: Google’s email sender guidelines and FAQ, Yahoo Sender Hub best practices and Microsoft’s Outlook.com postmaster policies, all read on 23 Oct 2026. Providers change these rules; we re-check them at the start of every engagement.

FIG 07 · Unsubscribe
One-click unsubscribe, done properly
Gmail and Yahoo require an easy unsubscribe, and a broken one costs you sender reputation fast. Dated facts, checked 23 Oct 2026; general guidance, not legal advice.
04principles
List-Unsubscribe headers
Every marketing message carries a List-Unsubscribe header with an HTTPS link, plus List-Unsubscribe-Post: List-Unsubscribe=One-Click, as RFC 8058 (January 2017) describes.
Signed by DKIM
RFC 8058 says the List-Unsubscribe and List-Unsubscribe-Post headers “MUST be covered by the signature”. We check that your ESP’s DKIM signature actually covers them.
Processing deadlines
Gmail asks for unsubscribes to be honored within 48 hours, Yahoo within 2 days, and CAN-SPAM sets a 10-business-day limit. We wire suppression so it happens straight away.
CAN-SPAM basics in every template
A visible opt-out link, honest subject lines and your valid physical postal address in the footer. The FTC is clear that the brand stays responsible, so we build it into the templates.

FIG 09 · Automation
Marketing automation
Email is one channel. Automation joins it to your CRM, store, landing pages and other channels, triggered by what customers actually do.
05principles
Cross-channel triggers
Events from your store, app or CRM start the right flow, in the right channel, once.
CRM sync
Two-way sync between your ESP and CRM, with clear rules on which system owns each field.
CRM developmentSMS, with consent
SMS needs its own prior consent and opt-out handling. We check the rules for each country you send to before the first message, and keep consent records.

FIG 10 · Honest answer
Is an email marketing agency worth it?
Not always. Here is when you don’t need us, and when an agency pays for itself.
04principles
A freelancer is enough when…
You need a few campaigns a month on a healthy account, and someone in-house owns the strategy.
In-house is enough when…
You already have a lifecycle marketer, a designer and a developer who can touch DNS and your store’s data.
An agency pays off when…
Deliverability is slipping, flows were never built, you are moving ESPs, or email needs store, CRM and design work at once.
Ours, when the work crosses teams
The same team can build your store, site and integrations, so fixes don’t wait for another vendor.
FIG 11 · Measurement
Reporting that survives Apple MPP
Apple’s Mail Privacy Protection “downloads remote content in the background by default”, which can count opens nobody made. So we report what people do, not what their mail app preloads.
| How we report it | What we won’t do | |
|---|---|---|
| Opens | A directional signal only, with Apple MPP opens flagged where your ESP allows | Sell you “open-rate lift” |
| Clicks | Click-through rate by flow, campaign and segment | Count bot or security-scanner clicks as people |
| Revenue | Conversions and revenue per recipient from your ESP and store | Quote industry “ROI per $1” figures as your result |
| Proof | Holdout tests where your list is large enough | Credit email for sales that would have happened anyway |
| Deliverability | Postmaster Tools spam rate, authentication pass rates, bounces | Hide a falling sender reputation behind revenue |
Apple, Mail Privacy Protection (page dated 12 Dec 2025), read 23 Oct 2026.
FIG 12 · Process · 6 steps
Into the inbox, then into revenue
Audit, roadmap, build, optimize: a fixed written quote after a free call, deliverability fixed before anything else, and flows built in an ESP account you own.
- Step 01
Free call
Tell us what you want to improve and what you have already tried. We ask about your tools, team, traffic and deadlines first.
- Step 02
Review
We audit your sending domain, DNS records, ESP account, list health, flows and the last few months of results, with read-only access to your ESP, store and Postmaster Tools.
- Step 03
Fixed written quote
A written scope and a fixed quote, with the timeline, tools, access and hand-over agreed before any work starts.
- Step 04
Sprints with weekly demos
Deliverability fixes first, then flows, templates and campaigns built in priority order, each one shown working in a weekly demo before it goes live.
- Step 05
Launch
Flows switched on in stages while we watch spam rate, bounces and unsubscribes, so a mistake reaches a small segment, not your whole list.
- Step 06
Support
Monthly optimization of flows and campaigns, A/B and holdout tests, and a report on clicks and revenue, as agreed in your written scope.

FIG 18 · How to choose
How to choose an email marketing agency
Five questions to ask any email marketing agency, including us. The answers matter more than the logo wall.
| Ask | A good answer | A red flag |
|---|---|---|
| How do you handle deliverability? | Named checks: SPF, DKIM, DMARC alignment, RFC 8058, Postmaster Tools | “We’ll improve your open rate” |
| Who owns the ESP account and data? | You do; the agency is a user on your account | The agency’s account, or exports on request |
| What do you report? | Clicks, conversions, revenue per recipient, holdouts | Opens and “ROI per $1” figures |
| Who is responsible for compliance? | You are legally; the agency builds consent, opt-out and footers in | “Leave compliance to us” |
| Why should we trust your badges? | They show real work you can check for yourself | Partner tiers and awards with no link to check |
FIG 19 · Compare
Email marketing agency vs freelancer vs in-house
| Email marketing agency | Freelancer | In-house team | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Best for | Fixing deliverability, building flows, migrations, cross-team work | Steady campaigns on a healthy account | Brands with email as a core channel and budget for a team |
| Skills covered | Strategy, copy, design, development, DNS, data | Usually one or two of these | Whatever you hire |
| Speed to start | Quick, once the scope is written | Quick | Slow: hiring and onboarding |
| Risk | Lock-in if they own your account (ask) | Single point of failure | Knowledge leaves with people |
