FIG 01 · BigCommerce Development
BigCommerce development services, built around the 2026 plans and fees
Catalyst and Stencil storefronts, B2B Edition, ERP syncs that stay inside the API rate limits, and payments planned around BigCommerce’s embedded providers, so the June 2026 fee change does not eat your margin.

FIG 02 · Quick answer
What do BigCommerce development services include?
BigCommerce development services cover designing, building and integrating stores on BigCommerce. Elgrith builds Catalyst (Next.js) and Stencil storefronts, sets up B2B Edition, and connects ERPs within BigCommerce’s API rate limits. Since June 2026 we also plan payments around embedded providers, because orders through other providers now carry an Open Payment Provider fee.

FIG 03 · Why it matters
BigCommerce changed its plans in June 2026. Payment choice is now an architecture decision.
From BigCommerce’s 2026 plan update page, its embedded payment providers page and its developer docs, read on 23 Oct 2026.

1 Jun 2026
New plans and a new fee
BigCommerce: “Starting June 1, 2026, BigCommerce is updating its plan structure and pricing.” Standard, Plus and Pro became Core, Growth and Scale, and “An Open Payment Provider Fee applies to all self-serve plans.”

2.0%
Open Payment Provider fee on Core
The fee is 2.0% on Core, 1.0% on Growth and 0.6% on Scale, and it applies only to orders processed through a non-embedded provider. Orders through BigCommerce’s embedded providers are not subject to it.

60k / hour
API calls on Scale (20k on Core and Growth)
BigCommerce’s docs list 60k API requests per hour (450 per 30 seconds) on Scale and 20k per hour (150 per 30 seconds) on Growth and Core. An ERP sync has to be designed to fit.

FIG 04 · Plans and fees
BigCommerce plans and fees in 2026
Since 1 June 2026, each self-serve plan has a sales cap and an Open Payment Provider fee on orders that do not go through an embedded provider. This is BigCommerce’s pricing, not ours: we plan the build around it.
| Plan | Was called | Sales cap | Open Payment Provider fee | API rate limit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Core | Standard | $30K a year (trailing 12 months) | 2.0% | 20k per hour |
| Growth | Plus | $100K a year (trailing 12 months) | 1.0% | 20k per hour |
| Scale | Pro | $33,333 a month | 0.6% | 60k per hour |
| Performance | Enterprise | Custom | Check your contract | Check with BigCommerce |
From BigCommerce’s plan update page (read on its official Australian site on 23 Oct 2026, as the US page was not reachable), its embedded payment providers page and its API rate-limit docs. Figures are in US dollars and can change: check BigCommerce’s own pricing before you sign. Embedded providers include Stripe, Adyen, PayPal Braintree, Checkout.com, Klarna, Worldpay and BigCommerce Payments.

FIG 06 · ERP integration
How we build an ERP sync that stays inside BigCommerce’s rate limits
A sync that polls every product every few minutes will hit the hourly API limit on Core and Growth. We design around events and batches instead.

1. Map the data
- Decide
- Which system owns products, stock, prices and customers
- Output
- A written data map in your scope
2. Webhooks first
- How
- React to order and stock events instead of polling
- Why
- Fewer calls against the hourly limit
3. Batch updates
- How
- Group product and price changes into batch requests
- Check
- Your plan’s per-hour and per-30-second limits
4. Queue and retry
- How
- A queue that backs off and retries when a limit is hit
- Why
- No lost orders when the ERP is slow

- A scheduled check that both systems agree
- Output

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about BigCommerce Development with Elgrith.
It depends on Catalyst or Stencil, the design, B2B Edition, the number of integrations and any migration. Your BigCommerce plan, sales cap and payment fees are separate costs paid to BigCommerce. We don’t publish our prices: after a free call you get a written scope and a fixed quote.
